Portrait
“I am an artist with all my being and a person who seeks something new. No matter what craft I’ve tried, I always return to art. I love bringing my ideas to life, messing around with a skateboard, listening to new thoughts, and observing people and the world. I could never sit within the frames that society prepared for me (despite the fact that I can adapt well). I don’t like it when they tell me to draw something ‘beautiful.’ I draw in order to drive thoughts out of my head. Whether it’s a person turned inside out anatomically or flowers—my choice. I believe that when I draw, I am the most real ‘me,’ not a person adapted to a specific environment. It’s a luxury to reach a state where we can see our true face. And for that, art is necessary. When people like my works, they often say that I have a boy’s brain (which, apparently, is supposed to be a compliment!). I disagree. I want them to evaluate my drawing and my personality—together. It’s not necessary for everyone to like my works, but I’m happy when people understand the chaos of mine.”
