Sophia Slepchenko

Portrait

“I’m Sofia, a self-taught Georgian photographer. Since I was little, I have been fascinated in photography. I remember getting an old black-and-white photo album from my grandma when I got home from school. The black and white one was my favorite; I laid it out on the ground and could gaze at it for hours. Every little detail that was caught in the picture piqued my interest. It provided the most extensive amusement for me because I still adore vintage pictures.
I moved to Russia after finishing my undergraduate studies, where I developed an interest in the conceptual genre in which I was working. The thing that makes me the happiest is filmmaking. And finally, I’m hoping to move to Georgia shortly so I can work on something important.”
